Jessica Biel, the celeb that has it all: motivation, confidence, and perseverance.
And did we forget to mention how stunning this go-getter is? Never an awkward moment, we’ve seen Jessica age quite gracefully – and finally, nabbing roles that have her name written all over them.
Here at Your Coffee Break, we have always liked Jessica Biel, especially in the early days when we best knew her as Mary Camden from 7thHeaven. She has such an easy, elegant but not forced style, and also one of the brightest, happiest smiles in Hollywood.
Born in 1982 to a family full of musical talent, Biel didn’t have to go very far for inspiration. Taking her time with dancing, this Minnesota native also took gymnastics and voice lessons. Like any other young child exposed to song and dance, Biel was inspired by the 1982 film production of Annie. She says, “I became one of the obsessed 8 year olds who dreamed of being [her].” A few years later, at the age of 14, she landed the part of Mary Camden on Seventh Heaven, a role she would have for the next 10 years.
Since then, she’s grown up into a great role model. She’s independent and quite the individual- For example, how totally cool it is that she collects vintage glasses with no lenses?? Such a relaxed and natural style. Also, known for her athletic physique, she’s kicked butt in a lot of her films, and sports are definitely important to her off-set as well. Addressing the pressure on women’s bodies in Hollywood she notes: “There is so much pressure to look a certain way in this town. But it’s nice to have a little meat on you, and I hope I inspire women to appreciate their muscular calves.” It’s refreshing to hear an actress confront female body images, so all the more reason to love Jessica Biel.
Some of the most memorable films that Jessica has been in include I’ll Be Home for Christmas, The Illusionist, Valentine’s Day, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, and New Year’s Eve. Ranging from comedy to romance, she’s proven that she can take on many different roles, even tough girl ones. Playing roles in which she is the girl next door or the bombshell executive has earned her celeb status indeed. She’s been featured on numerous charts, Maxim, Esquire, and VH1 to name a few, as well as being named one of the sexiest women alive.
Jessica’s long term on and off relationship turned engagement period with pop singer Justin Timberlake has put her under much scrutiny and the subject of suspicious scandal, but this career woman seems to be more focused on her next projects. Luckly for us, since we’ll be seeing a lot of her.
She has four movies out in 2012: Total Recall, The Tall man, Nailed and Playing For Keeps. Her broad range of skill means we’ll see her as entirely different characters in these films.
Total Recall, with Colin Farrell, is about a factory worker who realizes he is a spy and finds himself on the run.
In The Tall Man, Biel plays the role of a mother unraveling the mystery of a child abductor.
Nailed, from the director of I Heart Huckabees, portrays Biel as a small town waitress who goes to Washington for health care and meets a congressman, i.e., Jake Gyllenhaal, who lobbies for her.
In Playing the Field, with Uma Thurman and Gerard Butler, she’s the ex-wife of a former pro-soccer player Thurman’s character tries to seduce.
With so much to keep her busy, Biel says, “I’m not going to give up doing interesting things. I’m going to do it as long as I possibly can.”
