Beyonce’s little sister Solange out-glammed the diva herself this week in a colourful floral number from Dolce & Gabbana. As she hit the red carpet for the American Ballet Theatre Opening Night Fall New York City Center Gala, the blogs were abuzz with talk about Solange’s new sleek and straight ‘do.
While her hair may have turned some heads, we couldn’t take our eyes of her regal cherub scene frock and her Dolce & Gabbana embellished heels. Layers of gold jewellery complimented her OTT pumps, while a classic red lip and smoky eye added to the overall ‘50s glam-style look.
Florals and clashing prints had a big comeback this summer and the good news is they’re definitely sticking around this winter. For all the ladylike ladies out there, look for full floral skirts to pair back with opaque tights, a simple sweater and a bejewelled necklace. If Alexa Chung’s androgynous style is more your thing, get in on the trend with a pair of cigarette trousers, patent loafers and preppy floral shirts (buttoned up to the neck, of course).
So, now it’s back to the hair. Solange has been speaking out a lot in favour of the natural afro look, but it seems she’s trying out something new with a short, straightened bob. What do you prefer – go the ‘fro or sleek and chic?
