Some of fashion’s favorite style icons including Sarah Jessica Parker, Julianne Moore, Mena Suvari, Selma Blair, and Helena Christensen ventured into Lower Manhattan last night (Oct 23) to celebrate the launch one of the year’s most anticipated fashion collaborations: Maison Martin Margiela for H&M.
Hosted at 5 Beekman Street – an abandoned, nine-story historical building celebrities, who were all decked out in pieces from the collection, were treated to dance performances choreographed by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker as they made their way through various rooms filled with art installations displaying the new collection for H&M.
Covering more than 23 years of fashion, from the start of the label to the present, The Maison Martin Margiela collection solely features re-editions of the French fashion house’s most iconic and best-selling pieces. The line includes a navy oversized turtleneck jumper, a biker jacket, an oversized blazer, olive-colored canvas pants, and the famous integrated bra top worn by Mena Suvari at the launch party.
With the collection hitting stores November 15th, the anticipation has been growing ever since H&M announced that its alliance with Maison Martin Margiela would be unlike their previous designer collaborations allowing customers to snap up the French label’s iconic fashion pieces at high street prices.
