Dashing designer, Tom Ford, has decided that he will be showing his latest womenswear collection on the public catwalk for the first time this London Fashion Week.
This February will see London Fashion Week take the fashion world by storm once again, leading the way in new and innovative designs from classic design legends, and this year will be no different.
Tom Ford will be holding a full-scale show to mark his latest collection for Autumn/ Winter 2013.
After the brand was set up in April 2005, Tom Ford chose to only show it’s collections in private viewing, where no photographers were allowed access, which is why it is brilliant news that the designer has chosen to open his A/W collection for public viewing.
“[It’s] going to be for 500 to 1,000 people,” Tom Ford says. Photographers, bloggers — a regular, real show…The company has jumped and I can no longer service the stores by not showing. So I have to love it and embrace it.”
Ford described how he felt he must widen his horizons to catwalk shows now that his brand has become a household name. There are more than 100 Tom Ford stores worldwide and with this it is no longer useful to show his collection privately.
The Texas-born designer, who was once the creative director of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, has won many awards for his work in the fashion industry and his iconic designs are not going to be one to miss out on this year.
