Amanda Gerbasi, founder of Kattri, talks to Your Coffee Break about how her inspiring great grandmother was the first working woman in the family to start designing jewellery, uniting her passion for gems with the natural resources of her home country after she moved to Brazil in 1900.
It’s inspiring to know that Amanda is carrying on the work started by her great grandmother over 100 years later. Having personally gone to Minas Gerais (which translates to ‘General Mines’) in the heart of Brazil to source the rough gems which have been used in her collection, Amanda’s passion for gemstones and jewellery can be seen reflected in the pieces that make up the Kattri collection.
