What does your Starbucks drink say about you?
Technically, the official start of fall may be a few weeks away, but we’ve hit two annual benchmarks to signal that the season is upon us. First, Labor Day has come and gone, and second (drumroll, please) the Pumpkin Spice Latte has graced Starbucks for its tenth autumnal run on the powerhouse coffee shop’s menu. Before you know it, your Instagram feed will be full of shots of coffee cups with a misspelled name and PSL scribbled on the side. If your company is anything like Your Coffee Break, coffee is an integral and vital part of the culture. However, each employee’s beverage of choice brings to light very distinct characteristics of their personality.
Have a look at the cups below for a revelation of what seven popular Starbucks beverages say about their consumer:
Pumpkin Spice Latte: You love a good trend. Chevron? Peplum? Chambray? All of the above. Don’t forget to add your favorite Instagram filter (Valencia, of course). You’re the go-to girl in the office for the latest news; you’ve memorized the latest 30-under-30 list and you’ve downloaded TheSkimm religiously every morning since the day it launched.
Skinny Vanilla Latte: You’re classic, but you like to have fun. You know what you like, and you’ve been drinking it for years. Sure, you’ll try out the season’s “must-wear” fashions, but you’ll mix them sparingly with your tried-and-true investment pieces. If it’s not broken, why fix it? Building and maintaining personal relationships is one of your strengths, so it was a no-brainer for you to manage your company’s external communications.
Regular Coffee: You are a straight-laced, no-nonsense type of girl. You don’t skirt around the issue (and if you’re wearing a skirt, it certainly doesn’t have frills). You need a jolt of caffeine, and you don’t care whether it has a fancy name or not. Milk is for wussies. You’re the first one in at the office and the last one out at night, but you always have your coffee in hand. You are consistent and your co-workers can always rely on you. On the weekends, you meet with your mentor to map out your five-year plan… at Starbucks.
Mocha: Work hard, play hard is your life motto. You’re the team member successfully leading the huge client presentation, but you’re also the person organizing the office happy hours and the holiday party of the century. When you decide to indulge, you do it right. The bottom line: You get stuff done, and you go big or go home.
Chai Tea: You want the caffeine, but you are trying to be more health-conscious. You do yoga and pick up knitting every year for about a week. You are also known as the office mom who always has a Band-Aid on hand.
Iced Coffee: Cool, calm, and collected. Crisis? What crisis? Every situation that comes your way, you handle with grace. Your can-do attitude in the office is contagious, and you’re the guest of choice for every afternoon coffee meeting. A combination of scattered sticky notes and your trusty Moleskine help you navigate through your never ending to-dos.
Frappucino: Well aren’t you the life of the party? Your office BFF grabs a mocha, and you don’t stray too far from them… you just prefer the cooler side. Your creativity makes you a magnet in the workplace. Everyone wants your opinion, whether it’s for copy for the latest email campaign or your input on an innovative brand partnership. You have no problem leaving the office drama behind the minute the clock
