Once upon a time you would wear a simple primer under your make up to ensue that it stays put and keeps you looking fabulous all day. However, in recent years, the beauty industry has rather overzealously developed a plethora of under base “base” products. From BB to CC creams, we seem to have more choice than the letters of the alphabet and a growing list of products that claim to be the wonder item that we must try.
Our secret is POREfessional by Benefit. Not only were we instantly enamoured by the name, this is a no nonsense product that’s easy to use and offers up nothing short of a skincare miracle. Along with achieving the fundamental of a base product in that it ensure our make up stays firmly put, it also smoothes the skin out a treat.
Quite the multi tasker, the product quickly minimises the appearance of pores & fine lines and the lightweight, oil free formulation contains a vitamin E derivative, so not only does it keep shine at bay and even out skin tone, it also helps protect the skin against free radicals. We quickly fell in love with the silky texture and found that it sinks into the face beautifully, leaving us with a perfectly smooth canvas for applying our makeup.
The product meets the fine line between mattifying and drying, ensuring that it doesn’t counter balance our moisturiser as some primers do and we found that a small amount was all that we needed to last us through the work day. If you were wanting a top up before heading out in the evening POREfessional can also be applied over your make up to smooth any pesky lines that might appear at the end of the day, so you can appear instantly refreshed without having to redo your entire face. Which gives you time for one extra cocktail during happy hour. Who can argue with that!
