For founder Colette Marie, art has greatly inspired her designs and was the driving force behind her initial infatuation with fashion and wanting to become a designer.
Aged 14, like most of us, she was awe-struck by the V & A. The vibrancy and creativity of a Vivienne Westwood exhibition specifically blew her away. Today, Colette’s inspiration still comes from art and fashion, stained glass windows and the curves of architecture can inspire a piece of jewellery. The world around us, too, holds great influence over her collection, as travelling to India and Japan has given certain unique pieces an oriental style. But the jewellery always remains graceful, no matter from where in the world she draws inspiration.
You may look at the pieces and think; ‘When will I ever have an appropriate event to attend, where I can wear these elegant pieces?’ But it is Colette Marie’s belief that: ‘it’s always important to have occasions where you can dress up, and feel glamorous, but you shouldn’t need an excuse, everyone loves to feel beautiful all the time.’ And we couldn’t agree more! It definitely got us thinking of another way to give every day its own dose of glitz and glam; accessories that will take you from desk to dinner and onto drinks in the evening.
