Lana Del Rey, Kate Hudson and Taylor Swift all wear Line
The time is coming to say goodbye to iced coffees and bare legs, and hello to soy chai lattes and oversized knits. Yes: autumn is almost upon us, and just as the leaves begin to turn golden brown, we too are turning over a new leaf by wind and wet weather-proofing our wardrobes. Far from dreading the impending rise of fall, we’re extremely excited about its imminent arrival and the amount of shopping and knitwear-wearing it’ll require.
It seems we’re not the only ones already getting that fall feeling as Kate Hudson, Lana Del and Taylor Swift have all been spotted sporting Line Knitwear in the last few weeks.
Taylor Swift has never put a fashion foot wrong in our opinion; we’ve spent the summer lusting after her crop top / pencil skirt combos, her sparkling red carpet gowns and her colour pop bags, and it looks like she’s just as capable of putting together snug ensembles for the colder weather too. This month Taylor kept her knitwear look classic and cosy by teaming Line’s Argyle sweater with slim leggings and preppy pumps. A timeless pattern and cut like this is a guaranteed way of always looking put together, even if you’ve just rolled out of bed.
In a recent Instagram post Kate kept up her impeccable style credentials by pairing a brown Line knit with a denim shirt, red lips and mussy hair. We think she’s definitely got the right idea by spicing up a jumper with a cute collar! We’ll be throwing on seriously oversized knits, dark skinny jeans and heeled boots for the ultimate ‘it genuinely took me two minutes to get dressed but don’t I look fabulous?’ look this autumn.
For an uber polished, feminine take on knitwear we’ll be looking to stunning songstress Lana Del Ray who, on a recent photo shoot, wore a deep berry Line jumper. Given the slight crop, we’d pair it with a voluminous skater-style midi skirt and pointy stilettos to up the ante with a bit of old school 50s glamour. Longer knits can be tucked in to a cinched in waist to strike the perfect balance between warmth and elegance – staying cosy in a chunky knit and flaunting an hourglass silhouette don’t have to be mutually exclusive!
We’ll be continuing to take inspiration from the rest of Line’s collections this A/W, as the brand constantly delivers quality yet playful knitwear. Made from a light cashmere blend and with the sleeves stylishly pushed up, the Wicker sweater is perfect for that awkward transition period between the sun setting on the height of summer and deepest, darkest winter setting in. Knitwear doesn’t always have to be chunky; in fact, The Heiress is semi-sheer, making it extremely elegant, delicate and sexy. Night out knitwear? We’re making it happen!
Indeed, knitwear is generally thought of as cosy and practical – the perfect snuggled up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and marshmallows companion – but perhaps not necessarily fashion forward. We’re convinced that Line’s fall collection will make you think again as they dare to push design possibilities through exaggerated detailing and unexpected embellishment. We particularly love their autumnal take on the summer’s snakeskin print trend, and the stunning silhouettes their innovative draping creates.
We’ll admit it, in the past the colder weather has largely made us want to do nothing more than hibernate until the sun shows it’s smiling face again next year, but with our wardrobes packed full of new knits we suspect we’re going to take every opportunity to get out in to that enchanting, golden, blustery world this autumn!
