YCB’s London Fashion Week Accessories Edit with Carlo Pazolini
We all know a great outfit is made by even greater accessories, which is why we thought long and hard about whose designs we wanted to wear at London Fashion Week this season. Coveting bold, striking, eye-catching yet elegant pieces, Carlo Pazolini felt like the obvious choice for both our heads and our hearts.
For long days of shows at Somerset House and ME Hotel we did, unfortunately, have to think a little of practicality as well as appearance. Large enough to hold all our invites, notepads, a camera and, most importantly, a cheeky can of diet coke, Carlo Pazolini’s large handbag was perfect. The monochrome design makes is neutral enough to go with almost anything, but we particularly loved the unexpected pop of electric blue at either end. We decided to draw inspiration from it, mirroring the colour in a pair of floral print trousers. A geometric bag with florals, you cry?! Well, FYI, clashing prints were all over the catwalks! Can’t be doing with big bags but love the design? It comes in a small cross-body design too!
London Fashion Week doesn’t only happen during the day; the mayhem and magic continues well in to the night! A girl deserves a martini or two after darting around the city all day, and for those evening catwalks and after parties we wanted a serious sartorial showstopper. We wanted our accessories to stand out even in the dim lighting of London’s sultry underground bars, so the glistening metallics of this Carlo Pazolini handbag were exactly what we had been dreaming of. This season’s shows might have been all about showcasing autumn / winter trends, but we were all about brightening up the room with a bit of sunshine yellow – in fact, Carlo Pazolini’s collection was inspired by tropical travels!
For an afternoon perusing the designer showrooms at Somerset House we needed a slouchy bag that we could throw on and off our shoulder, packing in as many exciting lookbooks as we could at a moments notice! In soft leather, the subtle detailing of the pink and orange colour clash struck a gorgeous balance between fashion forward and understated luxe.
While (for the most part!) our bag choices were dictated by practicality, we can’t necessarily say the same about our shoes. There are moments in life when a shoe is so beautiful your heart takes over and will not listen to a word your head is saying as it asks whether you really want to be dashing round London in such high heels all day… The answer is always going to be yes. If I look this good, yes! Plus we got to sit down during the shows, so we weren’t on our feet the whole time!
Whilst our blue and white stilettos were serious statement shoes, the type that got us noticed by street style photographers, Carlo Pazolini’s pastel lilac and pink sandals were delicately elegant. Worn with a classic camel trench we felt they were a beautiful way to look stylish on those rainier days!
