Scandi design we can’t wait to share on Instagram
If you’ve ever been on Instagram, chances are you’ve scrolled past a post by Caroline Blomst, Angelica Blick or Kenza Zouten (and probably double tapped at that). Scandi-bloggers like them are dominating IG, and have us loving all things Nordic. With its simple, minimalist and functional aesthetic, Scandi fashion holds the reputation for effortlessly cool style, and we want in!
While a shopping spree at COS may help fake it, our passports stop us from passing as legit Scandis. Luckily, High Spirit founders Gabriel Lota and Jenny Eriksson are the perfect style gurus to help us play the part.
High Spirit accessories have that effortlessly stylish vibe that Scandi bloggers and Instagrammers are loving right now. The products boast typical Scandinavian fashion quality, but with added edge and functionality.
Founded in 2013, the brand was born from a shared passion for style, freedom, authenticity, and creativity. Lota and Eriksson wanted to encompass all their sources of inspiration into their line in order to make something that is smart, functional, and exclusive at the same time. “We wanted to make products that people really need, that will ease their every-day life and enables them to live a global life in style.” said the duo.“The High Spirit costumer is urban, always connected and on the go, loves to travel, and is open to new things,”
“We want to blend in by standing out,”Lota told YCB.“We use gold a lot in our designs, which is something most Scandinavian designers don’t typically do. And we know the rigors of traveling, so we made all our products fully functional.” The leather phone cases double as wallets, and their reversible colour belts have a removable buckle, which will make going through much less of a hassle.
Among their style icons are Kate Moss, Rihanna and Tinie Tempah- three models that know everything about what it means to be cool and stylish 24/7. But you don’t need a full time stylist to be effortlessly stylish; Lota and Eriksson say the must-have staples for looking on point are a pair of denim jeans, a white button down, and a blazer.
Here at YCB, we are loving that ethical values seems very important to them as a brand. “We believe in good fashion but not at the cost of ethical behavior with regards to the planet and people, therefore our product had to be sustainable and timeless”, Lota explains.
The line is made entirely in Europe, so you’re guaranteed top quality, and security all along the way- from production to the end-user. “We take time to find our manufacturers and make sure we share the same values, we also believe in sharing the knowledge of caring for your products with the consumers so they can enjoy their products for a long time, even a lifetime.”
