Carey Mulligan stuns in Dior Haute Couture at the ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ film premiere
Stop everything, and let’s admire actress Carey Mulligan together wearing Dior Haute Couture at last night’s world premiere of ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ at the BFI Southbank in London. Now, exhale. (A moment of silence please.) This is serious. It’s swan-like. Dazzling!
Styled with Christian Louboutin pumps, Carey Mulligan is wearing a long embroidered pink sequin, pale pink and off white cotton guipure Dior Haute Couture gown; a dress that looks like she dreamt it up one midsummer’s night.
As always, Carey looks dazzling and the 29-year-old actress couldn’t hide her joy as she got the giggles stepping out on the red carpet in London last night. Refreshing isn’t it? Pictured above, her hair is spot on, achieving the soft and elegant ambience of the ensemble. Her makeup, too, is blissful with shades of pink from cheek to lip that only brings out the rosy specks of the dress.
Looking her style up and down is like sipping an iced latte on the hottest summer day – with extra whipped cream. She’s cool, sweet and she always adds a kick, finding out-of-the-box ways to keep her signature quirky, girl-next-door style while intertwining it with clean lines and traditional cuts for formal events.
You’ll remember that she originally shot to fame in 2005 for her strong screen presence in ‘Pride and Prejudice’. Since then, her critically-acclaimed roles continue to propel her to fashion-icon status (remember her as Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby‘) at red carpet events.
However, the other part is the way she makes the dresses her own, exuding confidence with a gentle feminine touch and attention to detail. The actress let’s the dress be the centerpiece but still carries the eye down to her heel – though even though it’s a bit matchy-matchy, it is necessary, as to complement the dress, not compete with it. Take note of the different textures. See? Interesting until the end with Mulligan.
Perhaps one of her most famous roles – which is said to be her breakout role – in ‘An Education’ is the best reference to use when describing her accomplishment on the red carpet last night: she schooled even the most impeccably dressed veterans, wouldn’t you say?
Well done, Carey!
