Hot Red and the White House: Ivanka Trump in Zac Posen
Bradley Cooper, Laverne Cox, Ronan Farrow, John Legend and supermodel wifey Chrissy Teigen: an extremely solid line up by anyone’s standards, right? Indeed, you’d be forgiven for thinking that we’re talking about those gracing the red carpet at a Hollywood premiere, but we are in fact referring to the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner! Lovingly dubbed ‘Nerd Prom’, the annual event, which took place on Saturday 25th April, has proved itself to be just as glitzy and glam as any Hollywood affair. Although the internet may be going crazy over Luther, President Obama’s Anger Translator, we’ve been busy lusting over the real show-stopper of the night: Ivanka Trump. Nerd Prom, you say? With Ivanka’s presence, it looks like those nerds just became the popular kids!
Taking tips from the First Lady, who wore a stunning custom-made Zac Posen gown, the 33-year-old blonde bombshell mogul set pulses racing all over Washington DC wearing a gown from Posen’s pre-fall 2015 collection. For the grand event she chose a classic silhouette, looking (red) hot in a mermaid gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline and flounced skirt. The dress even featured a stunning train at the back!
When it comes to heating up the red carpet, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner aren’t necessarily the first names that come to mind…well haven’t they just proved us all wrong!? What we want to know is how on earth Jared could pay any attention to the cameras with such a stunner on his arm! Mind you, Jared scrubs up pretty well too. Talk about date night.
Her accessories may have been understated, but Ivanka made sure she made a classy statement none the less, donning a red box clutch and diamond jewels. Diamonds are of course a girl’s best friend, and just in case you’re not already sick of the Marilyn Monroe references, our favourite businesswoman and mother-of-two completed the look with voluminous curls and a luxurious matte red lip. You can’t go wrong with old Hollywood glam, and we love that Ivanka kept things classic but added a modern twist!
