An insider’s (style) guide to Ibiza
We can’t wait for mojitos, paella, crystal waters and endless nights of clubbing in the Balearic’s hottest island. And what will we be packing? Good question! From Playa d’en Bossa to the Salinas, we’re covering every beach in Ibiza with these must-have items from B London Boutique. Our faves? Blogger-adored Soludos espadrilles, Mara Hoffman beachwear, and La Vie Boheme yoga mats for those sundown yoga sessions by the shore.
If you love sunshine, dancing to great music, beautiful people and some of the best bars in the world, Ibiza is the only place to go this summer. Renowned for its stunning beaches and hedonistic nightlife, for years it has been the go-to place to really let loose while catching some serious rays, and it doesn’t look like its popularity is waning anytime soon. Well, count us in because YCB can’t get enough of Ibiza and we’ll be heading down there once again this summer.
If you also have your ticket booked to the White Isle, Ibiza expert and founder of B London Boutique Anna Grotkamp give us the low-down on what to wear, no matter what the occasion.
Cheek-grazing denim cut-offs and barely-there one-pieces have become the norm in the clubs of Ibiza (so if you really want to stand out, try covering up a bit).
“Ibiza’s vibe is a combination of hippy, laid back bohemian chic with some neon ravers thrown into the mix. The fashion is generally whatever you like, you can be whoever you want to be on the White Isle,” says Anna.
Anything goes for the nocturnal glitterati, so pack your colourful party dresses, playsuits and heels. Sheer fabrics and boho detailing – think fringing and beading—feel like just the right amount of frivolous. For daytime, luxurious kaftans and silken cover-ups are still a great option.
“A good kaftan to take you from beach club to sunset, some cool ankle boots, Le Specs Sunglasses, a cool sun hat, a few bikinis, sun lotion, a Maslin & Co beach towel and some paracetamol for the mornings after the night before” are Anna’s essentials for a getaway to the Balearic’s hottest island.
Have a peak at Anna’s recommendations for all things Ibiza:
YCB: What are your favourite spots on the island?
AG: “My favourite spots to eat are the Fish Shack in Talamanca for fresh fish on the rocks, Passion Café for detox smoothies and salads, and La Torreta in D’alt Villa for homemade pasta & good rosè. For beaches I reccommend Salinas and El Chiringuito, and Es Vedra for quiet sunsets. Beach clubs: Experimental, Cotton Club and Amante.”
YCB: What is a go-to outfit that will take us from beach to club?
AG: “Camilla jumpsuit, B London python clutch, some Terrapin calling cards, and an Amanda Marcucci bangle and necklace.”
YCB: What is in your Ibiza beauty bag this summer?
AG: “Institut Estederm sun lotion & tan prolonger, Eve Lom Kiss Mix, Popbands hair bands, Fake Bake 60min tan for the first few pale days, Charlotte Tilbury Bronzer Stick in Ibiza and some Herbivore Sea Salt Hair Spray for evening beach hair.”
YCB: What beauty regime do you recommend to get us Ibiza-ready?
AG: “A Fake Bake spray tan, Shellac mani&pedi, brazilian and full leg wax and an Envrion Facial for flawless summer skin.”
YCB: Last but not least, where’s the best coffee in Ibiza, and how do you take yours?
AG: “The best coffee is at Passion Marina. I like it strong and black and a LOT of it throughout the day!”
