World’s first dream app has arrived and replaces your to-do list with a bucket list!
Everyone has a dream, in fact, Sir Richard Branson is always posting ‘we should all dream, share our dreams, then go out and grab them with both hands’.
We all love a to-do list. They keep us organised, sane, and most importantly give us the most immense sense of satisfaction when we’re able to cross items off. That simple act of ticking off a task makes us feel accomplished, invigorated, and strong enough to take on the next job, all with the swoosh of a pen. However, what’s perhaps less exciting is the items on said list: reply to 1,231 emails in inbox, arrange meeting with client, schedule social media, buy new stationary, refill post-its.
As hard-working professionals we often don’t get much time to do anything outside the (let’s face it, occasionally dull) to-do list. Well, we say it’s time to make some time for yourself. We say it’s time to reclaim the art of list-making! It’s time, ladies, to become dreamers, to make a bucket list of all the things you’ve always wanted to do for you – this way, you’ll enjoy both the activity and the ticking off! Win-win.
BUCKiTDREAM is being hailed as a 5 star dream mobile app available now in the Apple store, and Android to follow later in the year. It’s awesome – with a beautiful intuitive UI it’s easy to create your dreams and share your bucket list! Just in case you need some dream inspo for your bucket list, we’ve put together a guide to the top 10 things we think all professional females should have on their ultimate bucket to-do list!
First things first though, you’re going to need somewhere to house your bucket list. As much as we love old-fashioned pen and paper, we’re taking our bucket list digital and putting it on BUCKiTDREAM, a mobile social platform where you can create, publish, and share your dreams with everyone in your social network (and you can take a peek at theirs!). All you dreamers out there will be able to connect your dreams to hand-curated merchants who can help you to fulfill all your bucket list visions. You’ll also be able to request quotes on your dreams, so you can save up for all your new adventures!
So what exactly should you put on your fabulous bucket to-do list? Here are our top 10 ideas:
1. Learn a new language
Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic—the sky’s the limit with this dream! Brush up on a language you learned in school or start a completely new one. Thinking about one that’ll serve you well in your future career? Chinese is the way to go!
2. Discover your favourite coffee shop
It’s one thing to have a favourite coffee shop with a guaranteed abundance of comfy seats and speedy wifi, but to have the barista know exactly what kind of latte you want the minute you walk in the door? That’s when you know you’ve made it.
3. Save up and go on an off-the-beaten-path beach trip
While all your friends might be heading to Mexico or Greece, head somewhere just as beautiful but way more unique. There are a number of Croatian coastal cities, like Split or Zadar, that will offer you beautiful views without the crazy amount of tourists. Do some research, grab some girlfriends, and head off for the vacation of a lifetime.
4. Learn to play an instrument or pick up another awesome hobby
As kids we don’t appreciate how many amazing options we’re presented with – we’d much rather be at the cinema giggling with our friends than at piano practice. As adults though, we begin to wish our parents had been just a little more pushy, convincing us to stick with that choir or gymnastics class. How great would it be to be the person who casually whips out a guitar at the summer BBQ? There’s still time!
5. Go on a road trip
There’s nothing like blasting your favourite tunes as you drive almost aimlessly for hours with your best friends (bonus points if all the windows are down). Just get in the car and drive to a city you’ve never been to, find a bed and breakfast, and spend the night chatting with your favourite people. As an ambitious career woman the rest of your life is probably planned to the minute, so let yourself be spontaneous for once.
6. Start a passion project
You spend so much time keeping your colleagues and boss happy, so it’s important to put aside one evening a week to indulge in a passion project. Maybe that’s working on photography, or maybe it’s writing poetry on a secret blog, but whatever it is, make sure it’s something you’re doing just for you, and no one else.
7. See your favourite band play in another city
Headphones securely in, it’s likely music that gets you through the dull commute each morning. Be the diehard fan that you are and go to an awesome concert in a city you’ve always wanted to visit. It’ll be even more fun to hear your favourite music in an unexpected place.
8. Find the perfect Little Black Dress
Interview, networking event, date, cocktail party, brunch… this dress should be great for everything and fit you like a glove. Don’t be afraid to do a little searching before you find the perfect one.
9. Have a signature recipe
Even for those of us who can’t cook, (or perhaps especially for those of us…!) it’s always great to have one signature recipe you know you can get right every time. Pick your favourite dish and make it until you feel ultra confident putting it together. You never know when you might be expected to throw a dinner party for your boss and their family!
10. Attend a conference for something you love
You’ve probably been to a number of conferences for work and they may not have all been super interesting or engaging. So take the time to head to a conference for something you’re truly passionate about. Are you a lawyer who loves technology? Look up tech conferences in your area and go geek out!
So, what’s on your bucket list? Dreamers, make sure to share your dreams with BUCKiTDREAM on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
