Leona Lengyel’s “Room With A View” is truly museum-worthy!
Here at Your Coffee Break, we love a multi-functional accessory and we’re always on the lookout for key pieces that will look good with any outfit. But what about something that look beautiful on, as much as it does on your wall? Leona Lengyel’s latest collections of silk scarves are just that. They recently went on display at London Fashion Week, and while viewers perused her gorgeous creations, Lengyel showed everyone just a few of the ways they can be worn.
The inspiration for the ‘Room With A View’ collection was found from her very own studio. The view from the south facing London studio windows allow her to observe the ever-changing light over the city that is London. From Lengyel’s studio one can see the whole spectrum of colours the London weather can bring- from a beautiful sunrise to a dark storm rolling in- this designer is endlessly fascinated by the infinite colours and contrasts of light, which is showcased throughout her collection in the form of vibrant oranges, mystical purples and seductive blue tones.
As well as being beautiful pieces standing on their own, it is always a good sign when an accessory can be mixed in to almost any outfit. Each of the four pieces that make up the “Room With A View” collection can be used to add some much needed dose of colour to your spring outfits; the striking colours of the silks would look incredibly elegant against either an all white or all black outfit. Equally, the bright colours that have inspired the collection makes the scarves the perfect accessory for the simpler trends of slip dresses and bomber jackets, spicing up your outfit throughout the Spring Summer 2016 season. If you like bold, clashing prints, Leona Lengyel’s designs provide the colour and texture to complement the sequins, stripes and Spanish influences we have seen this season on the runways of Oscar de la Renta and Marc Jacobs.
If you want to incorporate a scarf into your outfit but don’t want to wear it round your neck, why not tie it round your handbag to add a different texture to your outfit?
In our opinion, we think that her creations belong in the nearest museum and if you’re an art fan, Leona Lengyel’s scarves will work well as show pieces which can really add a pop of colour and creativity to your apartment. Why not framing the scarves or you can hang them in the same way as actual paintings.
Each scarf in the ‘Room With A View’ Collection retails at £220, and are available to shop here!
