Only in Ontario
Canadians often get a bad wrap. They’re too nice, they love their hockey too whole heartedly, and don’t even get them started on maple syrup. These connotations we have with America’s hat, I’m sure, have some roots in truth somewhere along the way but there’s so much more to this great country that is also incredibly huge and breathtaking. Ontario is home to some of the most unique and unforgettable experiences on earth. Apparently, you can take a moose safari via your own canoe while also witnessing a great Monarch butterfly migration in the same day. That’s nature at its finest right there, folks, and I’m not sure how many other places where you can claim the same possibility as actual reality.
Canada has some of the greatest natural resources to tap into that many don’t even realise they have access to. There’s wolves, beautiful vineyards, tulip festivals, picturesque little villages, and even the great Niagara Falls that also borders the state of New York. Ontario, Canada has a ton of great places to visit, witness, and take part in that could be considered the pure definition of hidden country gems.
If you’ve been following my posts here on Your Coffee Break, you know that I’m a serious aficionado for the great outdoors. I love being out in the wilderness, whether it’s hiking, camping, or just taking a nice walk around the neighbourhood. And what makes me the most excited about Ontario is just how accessible the great outdoors is as well as the wide array of choices that are available to anybody year round. Plus, there’s an Elvis festival in late July, and how can you say no to the king of rock n roll? You can’t, that’s how.
Anyway, back to Canada. I think one of the most magical parts of this region is that there’s so much left untapped once you get outside the city limits. There’s real nature still left in tact in their beautiful natural habitats and you’re really able to see what it’s like to be a little wild at heart. It really brings just how small we all really are in today’s world and nature has a great way of reminding all of us where we’re from and where we’re meant to be at the end of the day.
With all of these options, it’s hard not to book a flight to Ontario and get lost immediately. It is the wilderness, after all, and these great animals like wolves, moose, and even butterflies, call home so try not to destroy it for them. After all, they need a safe place to sleep too and you’re on their territory. Plus, I wouldn’t want to fight a wolf or a moose anytime soon.
So go to Canada. See some festivals, be in such awe of the wildlife and nature, while you also get a great dose of all the hospitality Canada has to offer. Switch up your vacation routine at least once by going here and I promise, you will not regret it. You’ll have a blast and come back with a thousand stories to tell your loved ones once you’re back in your own comfortable bed.
