California Breeze: All Meshed Up
Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, it’s officially summer, right?! It sure felt like it in the Bay Area as I was sweating my buns off running errands in 100-degree weather today, while my friends were messaging me looking for things to do in San Diego in a much more temperate climate. I was dreaming of a pool day, a fruit smoothie, and slipping into my newest design piece with Kingdom & State, the mesh-one-piece.
Last spring, I had the opportunity to create a small capsule collection with Kingdom & State and was so excited when they asked me to partner on a swimsuit this season. Eeee! Cue me starting to plan out all of our 2016 summer vacations in my head when then invited me to partner last fall. I knew what I wanted this suit to look like right away.
My design wishlist: a completely black one-piece (my favourite colour), mesh inserts somewhere, and halter-style. Basically, this suit needed to be as chic as hell, but still casual-cool. At the end of the day, I wanted the person wearing it to feel sexy and confident.
I love the cut of this suit because it really accentuates the shoulders rather than the lower half of the body. It features a mesh sweetheart panel at the bust and mesh panels on the side of the suit. The sweetheart neckline adds a touch of sweetness to my dark power colour.
Kingdom & State brought my vision to life beautifully and I’m so happy to say that my favourite suit this summer is one that I helped design. Be sure to follow me on Instagram to find out where I take my mesh one-piece this summer and how I style it! It’s going to get a lot of summer lovin’.
