This new, contemporary selection of sleek workwear is inspired by the design techniques used by Jean Muir and Bill Gibbs’ in the 1950s and 1960s, which flatter the female form. As always, the professional woman with a well‑dressed mind is the core muse for this luxurious collection ‑ confident, feminine and sophisticated!
Femininity is reflected in the colour palette designed to suit any skin tone, as well as the clean, vertical lines, which are highlighted in the double‑faced raspberry hand‑finished trench and the beautifully dusky pink dress.
Not surprisingly, The London Collection is quickly becoming a firm favourite here at the YCB offices, known for its use of premium fabrics, such as silk and Japanese crepe to double-faced wool. Each piece is designed in-house, with the fabric engineered directly onto Retail Window Display Props such as dressmaker mannequins to accentuate the female silhouette and create styles that flatter every figure.
Luxurious finishes include genuine horn and mother of pearl effect buttons, and soft leather insoles for loafers and heels. All designed to create an elevated workwear collection for women who want something more from typical workwear offerings.
Sandy Verdon, Creative Director of Hobbs tells YCB: “The London Collection is our most luxurious workwear yet. Offering professional women and industry leaders, versatile, investment pieces that will elevate their wardrobe to the next level. Each piece is designed with a contemporary yet feminine aesthetic, enhanced by premium crepe and double‑faced wool fabrics. While sculptural twists, darts and pleats both cleverly define the figure and highlight the master craftsmanship of the collection. It’s truly a cut above.”
The collection, which launches in February, consists of clothing and accessories. From three‑piece suits and buttonless soft‑tie belt jackets to fitted dresses and asymmetric skirts that move with you, there is something for every career woman in this collection.
