The Red Nail Trends that are Soaring in Demand by up to 800%

Last season we saw the rise of glazed donut nails, a trend started by Hailey Bieber that saw a dramatic 566% increase in searches overnight. Luxury fashion retailer Fenwick found there’s a new trend in town proving even more popular, the classic red nail. There are various durable manicure choices you may consider when planning to purchase new nail care products.

New data from the brand reveals that there has been a 245% surge in people searching for “Hailey Bieber’s nails” since she was seen sporting her new red nails and a huge increase of 3,681% over the past year. Hailey is officially a “Nailfluencer”!

Fenwick also found that TikTok is going wild for her nails with videos containing #haileybiebernails hitting over 469 million views.

Hailey’s nail artist Zola Ganzorigt revealed the exact shade of red she is wearing in the viral look, OPI Infinite Shine in Big Apple Red. With Google searches for the shade growing by a dramatic 567% in the past week.

Not only have Hailey’s nails been trending, but red nails of all varieties have been growing in searches on Pinterest:

  • “Red chrome nails” by 800%
  • “Red french tip nails” by 120%
  • “Red nails with heart” by 400%
  • “Cherry red nails” by 321%
  • The ‘Red almond nails” worn by Hailey grew 57%

Another reason behind the growing popularity could be the viral “red nail theory”, introduced by GirlBossTown on Tiktok last year where she explained men can’t resist red nails finding them the most attractive nail shade on women. The hashtag #rednailtheory has over 179 million views on TikTok and continues to grow.

Beauty Buying Manager, Vesa Kalho added “Red is one of the most classic nail colour options, it works for every season. The beauty of red is that there is a shade to suits every skintone with so many variations available.”

She advised, “If you have fair skin choose a cooler shades with blue undertones, medium skintones suit warmer shades like coral reds and dark skin best suits a richer deep red tone like a red wine shade of burgundy.”
