Tiredness can impact us all at various stages in our lives. Whether it’s a late night out with friends that resulted in a 4 a.m. roll-into-bed situation or dealing with sleep deprivation as a newly made parent. Sleep is something that many of us will certainly miss when we don’t get enough of it.
With that being said, there are certainly many reasons why you might be feeling tired and it may be down to any number of things. Here are five reasons why you might be feeling very tired right now.
A poor diet
The food you put into your body can have a significant impression on how you’re feeling, so it’s important that you’re eating well whenever you can. The reason why you might not be feeling the most energised recently, could be down to the food you’re putting into your body.
From fast foods to home-cooked meals that are simply lacking those energy-packed vegetables on the plate. Poor diets when it comes to feeling awake and revitalised are often the cause of why you’re feeling so tired.
Try to switch up your diet and swap out any foods that you notice are causing you a lot of fatigue.
Lack of sleep in general
A lack of sleep in general might be the reason why you’re feeling tired. Again, there is often a variety of reasons for this. It could be that your sleep is being disrupted by something – like a newborn for example.
For others, it may be that you’re going to bed too late therefore shortening the amount of time you have in bed and for sleep itself. It might even be that you’ve become a scroller on your favourite social media feeds, which isn’t helping when needing to fall asleep with ease.
Feeling stressed
If you’re feeling stressed, this can often have an impact on the quality of sleep you’re getting. Whether that’s stress in the home or stress at work, it can often be debilitating to your ability to sleep and get a good night’s rest.
Stress is an emotion we’re all capable of getting at certain points, wherever it comes from. It can start to seep in negatively, which is why it’s important to try and find habits that calm and relax you. That way, the stress is less likely to impact your sleep.
A symptom of diabetes
A symptom of diabetes is feeling fatigued and tired, regardless of how much sleep you might be getting. It might be worth speaking to a doctor about this if you feel like diabetes is something that could be causing this sudden fatigue.
Spotting the symptoms associated with diabetes is useful because many might not believe they have it and go undiagnosed as a result.
