BM Beauty Launch

May 16, 2012

With the summer fast approaching it’s the time of year to give your make-up bag a spring clean. Less is definitely more in the summer months and BM beauty is just what my skin has been searching for. Free from bismuth oxychloride, parabens, nano particles, synthetic dyes and fragrances and animal cruelty free (down to the synthetic, but oh-so-soft brushes) BM Beauty’s products are not only kind to your skin, but to the planet too.

Founded by former Pussy cat doll Kimberly Wyatt and friend Laura McComiskie the brand guarantees lightweight make up that allows your skin to breathe, providing you with perfect skin with a ‘no makeup feel.’ What could be better?

With this promise in mind I set out to test the products. First up was the 100% pure mineral foundation. Kimberly, who is currently starring in West-end dance show Revolution, informed me that all the dancers were wearing the makeup brand, and that it was durable enough to stay on despite the sweat-inducing dance routines and bright stage lights.

The foundation had a lovely feel and although it didn’t have as much coverage as I’m used to I think this will be a great lightweight foundation for the summer. So did it pass the gym test? Absolutely. As it was so lightweight I didn’t get that patchy look when I sweated as you do with heavier foundations. I also didn’t have the worry that it was clogging up my pores as I sweated. So far so good.

During my meeting with the founders I was impressed to hear that their new non sticky formula for lip gloss means that you get that super-shiny look without having the worry of your hair sticking too it! I have to admit I was doubtful this could work but after applying a liberal amount and stepping outside I was impressed that it didn’t stick to my hair at all!

The unique and impressive thing about the BM range is that as all the products are made from minerals there is the option to customise your look. Use the mineral eye shadows as blushers or highlighters, to add an extra colour to your lip gloss or even mix with a clear nail polish to get a unique nail colour! The possibilities are endless!
