New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood was flooded with fashion’s favorite designers and starlets this past Tuesday (Nov. 13) for the ninth annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards.
Presented by Emma Stone wearing a Burberry peplum top and skirt Greg Chait of The Elder Statesman took home this year’s top prize of $300,000 and a mentorship with a leader in the fashion industry while Jennifer Meyer Maguire and Tabitha Simmons were both named runners up, each receiving $100,000 to invest into their businesses.
Following past winners Joseph Altuzarra, Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler, Chait’s five-year-old, LA based label The Elder Statesman focuses on using very luxurious textiles, which he sources and hand dyes, in his subtle designs.
