This unique business delivers amazing treatments for professionals by working with HR departments to schedule recurring weekly and bi-weekly recurring visits. Busy Londoners need not worry about dashing out and using their lunch breaks (or coffee breaks) for nail appointments anymore! And if you’re worried that the quality might be compromised then fear not; each artist uses professional products to deliver a high quality 5* manicure every single time.

So how did this idea come about? We caught up with the founder of Minc Beauty to talk all things business and nails – our favourite combination!

Hadley explained that moving to London in 2014 after completing her MBA sparked her business idea for express, quality nail care. Having noticed a gap in the market, she took a risk and decided to test if the demand existed for in-office nails.

Hadley Diest MINC BEAUTY

“Coming from New York, where I got a 20-min manicure every week from my local nail bar, it was very difficult to find a service of comparable convenience and price here in London” coupled with the growth of nail care in the UK and companies’ increased focus on improving work environments and employee satisfaction – the potential was certainly there.

And she didn’t hold back, diving in head first by hiring a team of therapists to test the market with friends and family, something which Hadley reiterated the importance of. She soon noticed the success and potential that this business idea could have, and her main piece of advice? Don’t over think things – just simply take action. And we couldn’t agree more. In terms of overcoming hurdles, Hadley’s advice is simple,

“Just close your eyes and go for it – address the problems that do arise, not the ones you imagine might arise”, we can certainly see how Hadley has made Minc Beauty a success with her positive and fearless business attitude.

And as for trends this SS16? Hadley informs us it’s all about pastels; from pale corals, to mint shades and milky pinks, although Hadley has noticed a recent trend for light blues which she informs us are very chic and sophisticated – and what the nail queen says goes in our eyes! If you’re heading away on holiday any time soon then its white nails around according to Hadley who assures us it can “enhance a tan excellently”, we’re sold.

As for a classic work-appropriate colour that won’t ever date, it’s all about reds and burgundy –“they go with everything and look effortlessly chic” but nail no no’s and fads? Hadley believes the cutesy nail art is probably best left for a fun holiday look.

With manicures starting at just £10 we can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to take up this lifesaver (ok we’re being dramatic – nail saver) of a service! As well as manicures and pedicures, additional treatments such as sublime massage and brow services are also available. Just contact the team at Minc beauty to find out more and book your next work-break mani!
