Penelope Cruz’s Beauty Secrets as She Turns 50

Penelope Cruz’s Beauty Secrets as She Turns 50

April 30, 2024

Movie icon Penelope Cruz is turning 50 on April 28th, but the stunning Spanish actress could easily pass for 20 years younger. The Pirates of the Caribbean star has flawless skin with almost no signs of wrinkles or fine lines and could easily get away with playing characters in their 30s.

Penelope revealed that the key to keeping her skin so youthful is a twice-daily nourishing routine: “My beauty ritual is the same in the morning and at night. I cleanse my skin and apply serum and moisturiser. I don’t wear make-up every day, but I always apply some colour and mascara, lip balm and sunscreen if I’m going to be outside for a long time.” (Source: The Telegraph).

Penelope has been a Lancome ambassador since 2013, and her daily skincare routine involves three main products, the Lancome Abosolue Purifying Brightening Gel Cleanser followed by the Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating serumand Lancome Hydra Zen Moisturising and Soothing Cream both for day and night.

As for makeup, she uses the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation Stick and Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer for her complexion.

She follows up with the Lancome Blush Subtil Powder and Lancome Hypnose Drama Waterproof Full Impact Volume Mascara, and tops off her look with the Lancome La Nuit Tresor L’Eau de Parfum Spray.

If you’re not a Lancome ambassador, Penelope’s skincare regime will set you back £181.90 a month, and her makeup and perfume add a further £231.83, bringing it to a grand total of £413.73 per month.

Online beauty retailer Escentual.com’s Campaigns and PR Editor, Ceryn Askins said: “Penelope’s selection of products is simple and effective. She is meticulous about performing her beauty ritual day-and-night and it’s clearly paid dividends. For most women, the formulation of lines and wrinkles around the eyes starts in the mid 20s and early 30s, and yet her she is at 50 without hardly any in sight.”

And Ceryn added: “Her makeup is subtle and this lack of daily heavy cosmetics also helps not to overload the skin which also reduces the impact of ageing.”
