What is ‘Blonzing’? How to Recreate the Viral Makeup Trend at Home?
Another beauty trend has made its way into autumn, and this one is all about maintaining that ‘sun-kissed’ look.
Thanks to ‘blonzing,’ a viral blush trend from summer, both girls and boys can keep their summer skin well into autumn. This trend remains popular among makeup lovers, especially on TikTok.
Franchesca Villar, Beauty Editor at Cosmetify, has weighed in on blonzing, explaining its purpose and how you can easily recreate the technique at home.
“For those still unfamiliar with the trend, blonzing simply combines blush and bronzer to create a natural, sun-kissed glow.
Previously, the technique involved applying both bronzer and blush, blending them together for a seamless, warm glow. However, many brands now offer products dubbed “blonzers,” which are essentially cream bronzers in warm, terracotta shades that can be applied all over the face, including the lips and eyes.
Some makeup artists also refer to blonzers as blushes that don’t require the use of bronzer. The purpose of this technique is to mimic the effect of a natural tan, making your skin appear healthy and glowing.”
To try this yourself, here’s what you need to do
- Using a bronzing brush, apply cream bronzer or a warm, terracotta-toned blush to the areas of your face where the sun naturally hits—your temples, the top of your nose, and the high points of your cheeks.
- Blend the product well, ensuring there are no harsh lines. This will guarantee a radiant, natural-looking finish.
- You can even apply small amounts to your eyelids and lips to enhance the summer glow.
The trend has led to a rise in popularity for Rhodes Pocket Blush in the shade ‘Toasted Teddy,’ but here are some alternative products you can try to achieve the same look:
