If you’re a seasoned PR pro, you may already be used to leading celebs down the red carpet, coordinating behind the scenes at a TV shoot or mixing and mingling with elites at exclusive cocktail events. However, if you’re new to the PR game and happen to find yourself assigned to a high-profile media event, you might end up feeling overwhelmed and a bit like a fish out of water!

It’s called an NDA for a reason – abide by it!
Oftentimes for celebrity TV shoots or special events, you may be asked to sign a NDA, or a non-disclosure agreement, that permits you from sharing sensitive details or information with anyone outside of your PR firm. Although it may be super tempting to snap a quick Instagram of the A-lister getting ready for camera or letting it slip to your BFFs that you’ll be working with a certain celebrity, keep your lips sealed. It’s certainly not worth losing your job or facing legal action!
And speaking of photos…
When working high-profile events, it’s expected that celebrities and otherwise beautiful people are going to show up by the boatload for the event. Although it’s insanely tempting to want to ask for a photo with one of your favorite celebs, resist the urge to fangirl and remember that you are there to do your job, and they are there to do theirs.
Do your best to blend in
Whether on-set or on the red carpet, do you best to blend in at high-profile media events and focus on getting your job done. Although there will be tons of cameras, a tizzy of media crews and socializing galore, flashing your pearly whites for the camera simply isn’t acceptable at an event you are working.
