Healthy Cubicle Snacks That Will Boost Productivity

Healthy cubicle snacks that will boost productivity

January, the month of making resolutions and trying your very best not to fail by the 15th. The majority of us will have made a few goals for the year ahead, whether it’s improving your health, catching up with your girlfriends more often or squeezing in a few extra city breaks. There’s no denying though that this is definitely a time of year where we try to cut back on the takeaways and chocolate in favour of a healthier diet. Now there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that Friday night Chinese, but if you’re anything like us then you might find snacking is where you fall.

Are you a serial snacker? We know a few of us in the office are! Barely going an hour and we’re looking for something to graze on. Whereas some are more focused on three solid meals a day, others prefer lighter, smaller meals and tend to snack more frequently. Raising our hands here. So, how can you incorporate snacks into your everyday work life that are healthy & offer nutritional value?

We’ve rounded up some of our favourites to offer a little healthy snacking inspo…

Dried Fruit & Nuts

Nuts are a fantastic protein source and packed with healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. Mix with freeze dried fruits by Paradise Fruits for a super tasty combination of fruit and nuts. Opt for your favourite fruit, whether it’s sweet strawberries or punchy pineapple for guilt free snacking all day long!

Smashed Avocado

We’re big fans of the humble avocado, and one of favourite mid-afternoon snacks is half a smashed avocado on either ryvita or crispy flatbreads.

Avocados sometimes get a bad rep due to their fat content, but don’t let this put you off! They’re the good kind of fats and offer high nutritional value. They’re packed with vitamin K, vitamin C, folate and potassium to name just a few…

Hummus & Carrot Sticks

Carrot, cucumber, peppers, celery, whichever floats your boat! This is a super affordable snack to enjoy during that afternoon office slump. Grab a pot of reduced fat hummus, a few carrots et voila! Or you could even try making your own hummus, chickpeas are so cheap so simply whizz them up in a blender with some lemon juice, garlic, salt and tahini for your own homemade recipe.

Coconut Yogurt & Granola

We love coconut yogurt here at YCB, offering a healthy alternative to dairy and of course, totally delicious! Mix in with a small amount of granola for a yummy mid-morning snack. If you’re feeling fruity, then add in a freeze dried fruits for an added element of tastiness.

Apple & Peanut Butter

No really, just take our word for it! If you aren’t’ accustom to the beautiful pairing that is apple slices and peanut butter then you have so much to discover. The apple provides vital fibre and carbohydrates to boost your energy, whilst the peanut butter serves as protein and stabilises blood sugar levels. Plus it’s super delicious and almost takes like a healthier version of apple crumble. YUM!
