Is the 9-5 Dead? How This Travel Couple Work from Every Country in the World
In January 2023, Adriana and Mike made a life-changing decision: they quit their jobs to travel the world and embrace an unconventional lifestyle.
This dynamic duo, who have been childhood sweethearts since their school days, set out to explore all seven continents, with a goal to visit every country in the world. They have currently travelled to all seven continents and over 52 countries and their journey shows no signs of slowing down.
Adriana and Mike had always dreamed of the classic British ‘gap year,’ but life took them on a different path after university. Adriana, with a masters in Nutrition worked in the healthcare field, while Mike thrived as a Creative Director in brand design agency in London.
In their 30s, and after many years of Adriana nagging Mike, they decided it was time to seize the moment and embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
They began their journey with a plan to explore Asia, travelling to over 23 countries in the year. This included places like India, Thailand, Maldives, Vietnam, Japan and more. They then planned to conclude their year-long adventure in Australia & New Zealand.
Six months into their travels they said; “we realised what we were doing was too good to stop! We’ve never looked back.”
This year in 2024 they have continued their travels throughout South America and USA. Travelling to unique, bucket list destinations like Antartica, The Galapagos Islands and hike up to Machu Picchu.
They now plan to travel to every country in the world and want to be the first British married couple to do this.
Adriana, a passionate traveller and photographer, has always loved sharing their adventures on social media @wander.licious which really took full flight during the 2020 pandemic. Adriana could no longer work with vulnerable patients during the pandemic and was put on furlough, so photographed in her back garden, and then when restrictions semi lifted, the local walks in her area. Her love for capturing the beauty of their travels has resonated with many, and their following on Wanderlicious has grown to over 300k over the past year.
Through their content, they inspire others to discover the best places to travel in the world, whilst giving a little insight into their unique and authentic experiences. They also give travel hacks along the way, such as ‘Travelling to Maldives on a budget’, ’90 days in USA and only spending $5 a day’, or ‘how you can travel to Antartica with a 90% discount!’
