Even with endless amounts of prep and research, you can almost never tell how an interview might go. Success can often feel like it’s down to pure luck, but could our star signs also have something to do with it?
Employability testing specialists, Practice Aptitude Tests wanted to find out if there’s more that comes into play over our skill set and experience in interviews – can our star signs really help us to ‘bag’ the job?
They spoke to renowned astrologer and celebrity psychic, Inbaal Honigman who revealed that there are certainly different zodiac signs that interview particularly well.
The star signs most likely to get the job:
Capricorn
“The most business-minded sign is Capricorn. This Earth sign is focused, ambitious and dedicated, and their interview style is sharp and no-nonsense. Those born under the sign of the Sea-goat are all about the bottom line, they want to make businesses more profitable and they’ll be quick to share their ideas for increasing turnover.
“Lock your Capricorn candidate in early, as they’ve likely got a few offers in the bag and are still shopping around for a better offer.”
Leo
“The most charismatic sign is Leo. This Fire sign is loud and proud, and not scared to step into the limelight. Those born under the sign of the Lion are all about making a good first impression. They give good interviews and they’ll use plenty of examples to highlight their past achievements. Leo’s love to look good, so their business attire and superb grooming will command attention from the first moment of the interview.”
Inbaal says that employers should double check a Leo candidate’s employment history, to “make sure that their successes are authentic and not exaggerated”.
Cancer
“The best team player is Cancer. This water sign just loves being part of the family. Those born under the sign of the crab find their place in the hierarchy of any organisation early on, and they prioritise team achievements over personal glory.
Cancerians might not give the best interview, as they hate showing off, but their CV will speak for itself, demonstrating that they’ve stayed in old jobs for many years and they can share sparkly references.”
Pisces
“The most adaptable sign is Pisces. This water sign has a knack for copying the traits of anyone they speak to. If the interviewer has a prominent body language gesture, the Pisces can’t help but emulate a similar style. Those born under the sign of the fish can make you feel as if you’ve known them forever, because they mirror your own behaviour back to you, a mark of their empathic nature.
“This sense of familiarity can make the interviewer subconsciously favour the Pisces. But this isn’t a strategy, it’s just in their nature!”
Virgo
“The most thorough sign is Virgo. This Earth sign is pragmatic, methodical and organised – their interview hack is to come super prepared. Those born under the sign of the Virgin can learn a topic inside and out and explain your business to you better than you know it yourself. They remember every last detail they learned at school, from old jobs, and even specific details from watching random documentaries, so they’ll demonstrate superior knowledge in almost any topic.
“Virgo’s can’t help but impress at interviews, and are likely to leave with an offer already in the bag.”
Star signs that might be more likely to face rejection:
Aquarius
“The most humble sign is Aquarius. This modest and self-deprecating air sign would rather eat hot coals than talk themselves up. Those born under the sign of the Water-bearer will show up for the interview on time and be well turned out, but that’s where the vaunting ends.
Aquarians are such humanitarians, that they think ‘someone must need this job more than I do’, and even if they’re the most suitable candidate, they’d be reluctant to push hard or be seen as egotistical.”
Inbaal’s advice to potential Aquarius employers is to “seek out a contact in their old job and ask about them, because odds are high that this Aquarian will come highly recommended.”
Sagittarius
“The most independent sign is Sagittarius. This Fire sign won’t dress for the job they have, they won’t dress for the job they want, and they are certainly more likely not to dress to impress at an interview.
“Those born under the sign of the Archer appear at their job interview as their authentic true selves, and they won’t lie on their CV or during their assessment. Sagittarians don’t know how to deceive.
“Their free spirit and sense of adventure make them so much fun to have at work, and a valuable asset to any employer. Sagittarians are honest and transparent, but this approach doesn’t always ‘wow’ an interviewer.”
