Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 actress Dakota Fanning glams it up in a white Chanel dress as she graces the cover of InStyle UK’s December issue. In an intimate interview 18-year-old Fanning opens up about co-star Kristen Stewart’s recent scandal, filming a rape scene at a young age and her love life.
When asked about her friend and co-star Kristen Stewart’s recent scandal Fanning alleged: “Well I just think that media frenzies like that… Everyone thinks they have the right to you, you know, publicize the struggles and sadness and heartbreak and all of that. It’s like, why do you think you are the authority to judge people’s experiences?’”
On shooting a rape scene at 14-years-old for her film Hounddog Fanning opens up on how, as an actress, she is drawn to darker roles: “I’ve always been drawn to material that’s more kind of heavy, you know? Whether it be dark or dramatic or sometimes disturbing. And that can be hard to do when people think you’re still a kid.”
When it comes to her love life she likes to keep it relatively simple. “You know, I’m not the kind of girl or person who really wants boyfriends in my life” shared Fanning about only having had 1 boyfriend and being single right now. “I’m also the kind of person…I’m very black and white in what I feel and I don’t wanna be with someone that I don’t foresee spending a long time with.”
In an industry that can get hectic, Dakota Fanning has learned to ground herself and not let fame go to her head: “Why have I been able to stay sane in a sometimes insane world? The pure love of what I do. Making movies.”
