From parties to premieres, Kimberlee Oo brings us the weekly red carpet wrap-up.
Revlon ambassador Emma Stone fronted up to the Nearly Naked makeup launch this week looking suitably, well, nude. But not the Page 3 kind of nude (obvs), but rather refreshingly tonal in a simple Daniel Vosovic shift.
Some may say it’s a bit meh, but I think these neutral tones are perfect for the 24-year-old star. With her blonde hair and the grey-cream pairing, it’s so perfectly bland that it actually stands out all the more.
Emma took the outfit from drab to fab with a dark mani, a hint of mauve eyeshadow and orange Rupert Sanderson heels.
Bone, blush, cream and ivory… All these shades can actually (surprisingly) be a fair skinned girl’s best friend. If you’ve stayed away from these blah basics for fear of looking washed out, take a cue from Emma and rock it out. To lift the colour, look for accents of other complimentary shades – the grey works well on Emma, while pops of brighter hues like magenta or cranberry are best teamed with pink-based neutrals. And if all else fails, navy and cream are the perfect couple to switch up from classic black and white.
What do you think about Emma’s nude-hued look? Would you dare to try something this simple to make a statement?
