There’s only four days until Christmas and Carey Mulligan was getting right into the spirit this week in a glittering Valentino frock. It’s probably the only time of the year when it’s acceptable to resemble a Christmas tree, so kudos to the new Mrs Mumford pulling it off.
Carey, an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, looked perfectly festive in a tiered cocktail dress at the ASMALLWORLD Winter Weekend in Switzerland. The actress paired back the busy lace detailing with simple black Prada heels, a narrow belt and a Nina Ricci clutch.
I love the combination of the sheer with the intricate lace overlay – its ladylike and demure, but with an edgy twist. A no-nonsense low bun, simple smoky eyes and a natural lip let the Valentino shine, literally!
