From parties to premieres, Kimberlee Oo brings us the weekly red carpet wrap-up.
Jennifer Lawrence and her did-it-or-didn’t-it-rip Dior dress stole the headlines this week, but the real style stars didn’t have to worry about any faulty hemlines or potential knicker flashing. Take it away ladies…
Amanda Seyfried
The best part of Les Miserables so far is Amanda Seyfried’s red carpet choices. The 27-year-old actress has really come a long way from her Mamma Mia days and is definitely a favourite for the Your Coffee Break Oscars’ Best Dressed award.
Wearing a stunning navy Zac Posen gown, Amanda worked the fishtail gown better than any beauty queen we’ve ever seen. A perfect fit for her figure, the strapless sweetheart neckline tapered down to the dramatic layered hem. A long pendant by Lorraine Schwartz was a subtle-yet-striking jewellery addition. Glossy cascading waves and an on-trend side part perfect her look.
Nina Dobrev
Cut-outs are still a big trend in the world of red carpet dressing as Nina Dobrev so stylishly demonstrates. The Vampire Diaries star was radiant in a candy pink Elie Saab Spring 2013 gown, breaking out of the sea of dark blue and black hues. The T-shirt style bodice is made just a little bit sexier with the hint of lace slashes and a super-skinny belt. I love that Nina keeps it simple with a few sparkly accessories and a shiny updo.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole put her statuesque height to good use in a couture Vivienne Westwood column gown. Another midnight blue look, Nicole stands out from the crowd thanks to the glittering floral appliques and the sexy side split. The sheer bodice stops the lace overlay from being too heavy, while still exposing her sexier side. While the dress is absolutely stunning on Nicole’s alabaster skin and trim figure, I’m not convinced on the contrast earrings and her sleek, straight locks. Simple studs and a classic chignon perhaps would have worked better – although I’ve got to admit, this look is a lot fresher. What do you think?
Now it’s over to you – who was your best dressed? How would you have styled some of the outfits?
