A glamorous celebration of successful and inspirational women took place this Tuesday at Berkeley Square Garden in London, courtesy of monthly magazine Glamour.
With an incredibly stylish array of successful women gracing the red carpet, and a celebration of the work of women, we here at YCB think it’s the best Award ceremony of the year, hands down!
With awards ranging from best musician, fashion designer, sportswoman and actress- all women!- the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013 is a great celebration of all the different areas and careers that women are excelling in.
Crowned ‘Woman of the Decade’, Victoria Beckham, who was wearing black Marc Jacobs, took 14-year-old son and face of Burberry, Brooklyn, as her date. The former spice girl, now acclaimed fashion icon and designer said ‘”I love to celebrate women. Girl power. It’s great when women support women. We need more women out there supporting women.’
Other winners included Mylenne Klass, who won the Entrepreneur of the year Award, and echoed Victoria Beckham’s support of women as she said: “As a mum of two girls it’s so important that women get a voice and support each other. There’s not enough kindness out there.”
Other notable wins include Emma Hill, creative director at Mulberry’s, who was awarded Accessories Designer of the Year and Clare Waight Keller, head designer at Chloe and mother of three, was presented with Fashion Designer of the Year.
In the music world, glamourous girl band ‘The Saturdays’ picked up Best Band, proving that you can make a career and motherhood work with Una Healy and absent Racheal NAME recently becoming mothers, and glowing Frankie Stanford showcased her neat bump on the red carpet. British beauty, Rita Ora, was awarded with Solo Artist of the Year, unsurprisingly with her catchy beats and super cool sense of style! Jessie J, showing off her dramatic shaved blonde hair, was honoured with the Editor’s Special Award.
Funny girls Miranda Hart and Rebel Willson were awarded with ‘Writer of the Year’ and ‘Film Actress of the Year’ respectively, unsurprisingly as the formers clumsy wit and the latters brilliant performance in ‘Pitch Perfect’ and at the MTV Movie Awards had the YCB girls in stitches!
Other fabulous attendees included model of the moment, Cara Delavigne, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden and Kylie Monogue making the Glmour Women of the Year Awards THE place for any career focus and creative woman to be!
We here at YCB, are all about giving successful business women a platform to share their success and be inspired by likeminded women, so with the increasing popularity of the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013 we think business women are finally getting the respect and celebration they deserve! Well done ladies, well done!
