ACRIMONY marks the second time that Alexus has played a young version of Taraji P. Henson, having previously played young ‘Cookie’ in FOX’s Golden Globe Award-winning series “Empire.”
When she’s not busy on set, Alexus is also a talented singer/songwriter, who spends her time in the recording studio where she’s working on her debut album, set to release this month.
She recently dropped her new single/lyric video for her new song, “Baggage.” Born into a family of musicians, Alexus developed her talent and love for music at a young age. The singer‑slash‑songwriter has opened up for artists such as Diggy Simmons (son of “Rev Run” of RUN DMC), OMG Girlz, TK N Cash, and IYAZ.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, the starlet grew up playing basketball and soccer and at the mere age of 6 she began acting and performing on stage. As a teenager she often traveled to Atlanta for auditions and at the age of 16 was booked as series regular in “The Rickey Smiley Show” that aired on TV One for three seasons. Alexus then moved to Los Angeles, where she began booking roles on everything from “Grey’s Anatomy” to “Code Black” before landing the recurring role of young ‘Cookie’ on FOX’s mega-hit drama “Empire.”
