It is so hard to believe that Friends is turning 25 years old this year (unless you think about how many times you’ve seen each episode which we don’t recommend) but it seems nearly impossible that Jennifer Aniston, who was 25 when she landed the role of Rachel Green, is now 50.
She talked about turning the big 50 on the cover of InStyle this month, looking stunning in a collection of photos.“Fifty was the first time I thought, ‘Well, that number,’” she said. “I don’t know what it is because I don’t feel any different. Things aren’t shutting down in any way. I feel physically incredible. So it’s weird that it’s all of a sudden getting telegraphed in a way that’s like, ‘You look amazing for your age.’ I think we need to establish some etiquette around that dialogue and verbiage.”
For the Beauty Issue of InStyle Aniston also opened up the power of women. She explores a lot of that in her latest role on the highly anticipated new Apple TV series, The Morning Show. Aniston plays a news anchor of a Today Show-type program who is being pushed out after her co-anchor exits in a Matt Lauer type move. “Women were never allowed to have power,” she said. “Power feels sexy to me today, as does women’s intelligence and how capable and creative they are.”
The issue is available on Oct. 20.
