Expert Reacts to Emma Stone‘s Body Language Getting Her Second Oscar

March 14, 2024

Second round on stage receiving the most wanted reward, Emma Stone looked so self-aware and confident, that even a broken dress couldn’t change that. (Rather shows us her perfect back!)

Was it just a repetition that made this change? Or hardly noticed but significant improvements in her posture? Slightly more open and relaxed shoulders, a longer neck, and an open chest show the actress in a new light: a confident woman and a 2-times Oscar winner.

We know that in preparation for “Poor Things”, the 35-year-old actress had a heavy training schedule including a Pilates routine. (Emma Stone had to show us her body from every possible angle and all of them were just perfect.)

Kristina Rudzinskaya, a STOTT-certified pilates instructor, and a founder of posture apparel brand Etalon comments:

“As a Pilates instructor and posture apparel creator, I am convinced that Pilates played an important role in Emma’s posture transformation and undoubtedly prepared her for Bella’s role in “Poor Things”.

Comparing her photos from two Oscar ceremonies in 2017 and now, I can’t help but notice subtle but crucial changes in her physical appearance, and also how she looks at the camera.

Why? Pilates has a powerful connection to our confidence. Through consistent practice, not only does your body become stronger, but your posture also changes, your shoulders open up, the spine elongates, and become taller. You are standing taller physically, and most importantly mentally, as the body strengthens, it sends signals to the brain that you are more confident.

The inner feeling radiates outward, affecting how others perceive you.

What we can witness here is that Emma Stone shines her confident light not only through her facial expression, but with her stand, her movement, and her posture.”
