As the UK experiences Charlie XCX’s ‘Brat Summer,’ a Taylor Swift onslaught, Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’ release and the Girls Aloud reunion, female artists are dominating British culture, but which artist are Brits most obsessed about?
SZA has officially been named the pop star of the summer after new research from the greetings card marketplace thortful analyses of Google searches, TikTok hashtags, online mentions, and sentiment data to see who tops the British public’s obsession chart.
After her headline Glastonbury performance, R&B artist SZA surprisingly ranks first on the list, as the most talked about popstar in the UK this summer with a 512% increase in Google searches over the last three months and over 262,200,000 TikTok hashtags.
She’s closely followed by another surprise entry, American singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, who has the highest search increase in the group (646%), and global phenomenon Taylor Swift, who has 7,000,000 total online mentions in the last three months alone.

The recent rise of Charli XCX’s new album ‘Brat’ has resulted in a 307% search increase over the last three months, putting her in 10th position. Also releasing a new album is Billie Eilish, who has 2 million online mentions in the last three months alone, putting her in 12th place.
Miley Cyrus has the most TikTok hashtags with over 442,000,000, her ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ album release in 2023 pushes her up to fourth place in the UK’s most obsessed popstars table.
Sabrina Carpenter and Dua Lipa have search increases of 173% and 305% respectively, after a series of high-profile shows and releases, including headlining Glastonbury for Dua Lipa.
Ariana Grande ranks 8th on the list, with the highest positive online sentiment of 34%.
