With his shoes having rapidly become a symbol of 21st century fashion, Manolo Blahnik has been announced as the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Achievement Award at the British Fashion Awards set to take place Tuesday, November 27 at the Savoy Theatre.
“It is a great honour to be receiving this award from the British Fashion Council. To be recognized for doing something I love is really wonderful” said Manolo Blahnik whose shoes have become immortalized by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City and seen on fashion favorites from Anna Wintour to Olivia Palermo.
This special award is to honour the most significant designer who throughout their career, has made an impact on the global fashion industry.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce Manolo Blahnik as the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Achievement award” commented BFC’s chief executive Caroline Rush. “Throughout his career he has contributed so much, not only to British fashion but also internationally, he has a worldwide cult following and this is true testament to his enduring talent and success.”
