One of any fashionista’s go-to websites for the latest luxury trends is now going to print. Net-a-Porter‘s new mag will contain full articles, full editorials, interviews and more.
Speaking during a recent conference, CEO Mark Sebba announced that the launch will happen within the next year.
Since Net-a-porter’s launch in 2000, its total audience is now around six million monthly visitors. The key to the company’s success is enhancing the content on the site in whatever way they can. Bringing the fashion brands to life through apps like Suit Yourself, an app where Mr. Porter helps customers build different stylish looks.
The timing is interesting, the move to make a successful fashion retail website into a glossy print magazine. Just as the digital world of fashion is at its peek, with bloggers sitting in the front row during fashion week, and social media becoming a more rigorous tool for fashion magazines to build their brands- Twitter, Apps, Instagram, Tumblr, and many others.
Sebba’s comments regarding the magazine launch seemed to suggest that making the move to print would help the company to cover new grounds, according to Wired U.K who covered the conference in London. Going in the print direction allows Net-a-porter to begin competing with other big fashion outlets rivaling Vogue, Lucky, and Harper’s Bazaar.
