Rihanna has dubbed her collection ‘for sassy girls, who express themselves through fashion’ – but did she deliver? Yes!
It’s the talk of the town: Rihanna showcased her collection for River Island and threw a runway show like no other this London Fashion Week!
Taking place in the Old Sorting Office on New Oxford Street, the show was a great spectacle. There is a lot to choose from in this 120 piece collection, and it seems that every item represents the multi-faceted style of Miss Ri-Ri herself. You couldn’t put this collection into one style-genre, but it is the perfect fusion of 90s style with the simplicity and sharpness of modern fashion.
During the show, there were classic elements of Spring/Summer wear, with bright, neon hues and light, chiffon fabrics. In addition, there were cream and stone hues, and on some items – tie dye accents.
The bad-gal that we all know and love was evident in the collection with the appearance of grungy black crops, mesh vests, boots and short shorts. Rihanna’s collection has not produced any fashion surprises at all – the whole range of clothes is so… ‘Rihanna’. She’s given us an easy and affordable route into her wardrobe, because let’s face it, this girl always looks good.
