The Selfridges Shoe Carnival

Selfridges Shoe Carnival

Spring is just around the corner and here at Your Coffee Break, we literally can’t wait to put away our winter boots and welcome the lighter, adorable slippers and runway heels that are slowly making their way to the office. But, what we’re even more excited about this month is the Shoe Carnival in Selfridges, filling the department store’s extraordinary shoe spaces and every Oxford Street window with fun, theatre and dance; and offering a line-up of expert services and unexpected experiences in Selfridges four stores and online!

Oz and Kirkwood

oz and kirkwood at Selfridges Selfridges partners exclusively with Disney to bring The Great and Powerful Oz to Oxford Street. Shoe wizard Nicholas Kirkwood has designed a four piece collection inspired by the film, especially for Selfridges. The Yellow Brick Road and Emerald City will become the focal point of a dedicated Shoe Carnival window scheme. Follow the Yellow Brick Road (including actual bricks from the set) in store to discover original costumes and props from the motion picture, and purchase Nicholas’s limited edition and highly collectable Oz designs.

Museo Ferragamo London Residency

Salvatore Ferragamo’s Florentine Museo leaves Italy for the first time to introduce its fascinating exhibition of Signor Ferragamo’s personal archive to the Selfridges’ Ultralounge.

The Exclusives

Beautiful, exclusive shoes will take centre stage. Specially commissioned ‘Carnival’ shoes made for dancing the night away come courtesy of Rupert Sanderson, Nicholas Kirkwood, Gina and Charlotte Olympia as well as exclusive collections, previews and new designers to discover, including Katie Grand x Hogan and Havaianas’ exclusive £450 crocodile flip-flops.

The Trend Shop

Every week for the duration of the Carnival a different trend will take over the Shoe Galleries as a kaleidoscopic illustration of the styles of the season. This ‘run’ of shoes will span the entire department to offer high to low options from every brand and every price-point.

The Services

Studding, customising, tattooing and monogramming services will be available in-store throughout the Carnival to enable shoe shoppers to ‘buy and bespoke’.

The Experiences

A Carnival main stage at the heart of the men’s and women’s departments will be the central location for a series of Carnival themed in-store
activities – from the resident Pineapple Studios dance troupe to Lounge Bohemia’s most potent shoe inspired cocktails; against a backdrop of magic mirrors, coconut shies and all the fun of the fair.
