Is Urban Outfitters About To Buy Nasty Gal?
It’s hot, exclusive fashion-gossip that may not even come to fruition, but it’s something that has snapped our attention, anyway. Rumours are flying about in the fashion-world, that Urban Outfitters may be working on a deal with Nasty Gal, in order to acquire the amazing brand.
Nasty Gal, which initially started as an eBay vintage store, and has been operating as its own online retailer since 2006, has seen incredible success, and its popularity has sky-rocketed in the last few years. The quirky-cool and unique style of its products, has made Nasty Gal a household name, and a global retail favourite. It is the brainchild of the young Ms Sophia Amoruso, who at the mere age of 28, has created a multi-million dollar company.
Amoruso, 28, let slip in the New York Times, that she had been contacted by Urban Outfitters, with regards to a possible acquisition, stating: “We’re talking.” We’re sure that Amoruso has her head screwed on, and will make the best of any possible deal, considering her previous business history! This determined lady managed to acquire close to $50 million in investment from Index Ventures, whose other clients are top retailers such as ASOS and Net-A-Porter.
Here at Your Coffee Break, we wish Ms. Amoruso all the best, and fingers crossed for a collaboration between two of our favourite retailers!
