J’adore Paris: The Chic Guide On How To Dress Like A Parisian

Paris is known for being the fashion capital of the world and it’s easy for us to say ‘J’adore Paris’. Ever since the reign of Louis XIV, French style has been sought after by everyone. Parisians just instinctively know how to dress (it might have something to do with the insane amount of fashion brands that are based in the city). The key to dressing like a chic Parisian woman is knowing the balance between looking good, but not looking like you are trying. Parisians often dress so that they can transition straight from day to night. To get the effortless Parisian look , mix classic staples with one stand out piece, whether it’s a cool jacket, knockout shoes or a statement bag.

Because of the unpredictable weather, jackets are a huge part of the French style. French women would not be caught wearing a bland marshmallow jacket. Instead, they will be wearing a trench coat with a cinched waist, a supple leather motorcycle jacket, a trendy blazer or even a fur coat. Take advice from Parisians and add a statement jacket to your casual look of skinny jeans and a striped tee.

If you walk around the streets of Paris, you will notice a countless number of naturally chic women. The reason they look so chic is because they understand the importance of accessorizing. You will rarely see a French woman without a nice scarf or a pair of wedge boots. They know that the simplest things can make any outfit. So the next time you are dressing up, tie a silk scarf around your neck, or tuck your dark skinny jeans into a pair of heeled boots instead of your comfortable flat shoes.

French women understand the importance of being understatedly sexy. They often sport bed head hair, glowing skin and red lipstick. They will never show too much skin, but they are able to radiate sex appeal through their understanding of proper fit and sexy shapes. Corset tops and peplum skirts are perfect for achieving the sexy French look.

Lastly, you cannot go wrong if you just wear all black.

So, in order to get that chic Parisian style, wear clothes that give you a nice shape, accessorize and pick one statement piece to dress up your casual look. Top it off with messy hair and a red lip, and voila! People might be mistaking you for a French woman.
