Made For Plaid: Jana Reinhardt’s ‘Wings Collection’
Made for plaid: Jana Reinhardt’s ‘Wings Collection’
Cooler Autumn days like these call for wool coats, chunky knits, thigh high booties and plaids. We do love the animal print but plaid is our go-to pattern this season and it works well when looking to achieve that off-duty look. We love to vamp up the trend with statement jewellery and Jana Reinhardt’s “Wings” collection goes very nicely with this gorgeous pattern. The collection draws its influences from wildlife with pieces that are both simple while exuding pure style and sophistication.
Earlier this month, we had the chance to sit down for a coffee with the designer Jana Reinhardt herself and couldn’t help but asking where her inspiration for such a quirky design arose. She told YCB: “We love birds, and after having done two bird ranges (Little Sparrow and Flock), we designed a Wing Ring (a big wing wrapping itself around the finger in a warm embrace). This ring became really popular, so a year later we started designing a few more pieces to go with the ring and have been adding more styles ever since. At the moment we are making a tiny version of the ring and little hook earrings, which will be available from the end of October.”
Working alongside husband Ross Cutting, Jana Reinhardt was nominated for E-Tailor of the Year in the UK Jewellery Awards, selected as one of the Professional Jeweller’s HOT100 Next Gems, and with over 30 years’ experience collectively within the industry, the duo are no strangers to hard work and perseverance. In 2006, Jana chose to manufacture her own company and two years later she was already shortlisted for “Young Designer of the Year” in the UK Jewellery Awards.
Paired with the plaid pattern, celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, Cara Delavingne and Kate Moss have been spotted rocking multiple necklaces and bracelets, and we deem the Jana Reinhardt’s collection to be the perfect fit for upgrading your grunge style. Pair Jana Reinhardt’s “Wings” or “Hummingbirds” range with a plaid checked suit and simple tee to achieve the model off-duty look with ease. “The hummingbird symbolises joy, playfulness and lightness of being,” the designer told YCB, which could be the perfect attributes to bring to your own style.
As with all of Jana Reinhardt’s fine contemporary jewellery designs, each handcrafted jewellery piece is made in limited quantities, giving your outfit that exclusive authenticity. As Jana told YCB: “Our jewellery is for fun, stylish, uncomplicated women that appreciate unique jewellery with personality.”
