Chic not freak for Halloween

The spookiest holiday of the year is just days away and it is the perfect opportunity to let your creative side run wild. The key to looking awesome at Halloween is to be either hilarious, or chic and sexy – luckily our favourite celebrities are on call with some great sources of inspiration.

Rachel Zoe is Cher for Halloween

If you’re looking for inspiration for a glamorous gothic costume, Kate Moss is your go-to gal. Her lingerie and top hat ensmble that she wore in 1997 oozed sophisticated drama. Last year’s Morticia Addams look combined with husband Jamie Hince’s Gomez was equally bewitching. The pair flaunted vampiric white faces, while Kate donned in long black wig to complement the floor length, inky black gown. Kate’s Halloween outfits are a master class is how to work a polished goth look.

If you want to go down a more obviously sexy path, take a page out of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s book, who sported major sex appeal as an S&M goddess, complete with a bright green wig. Rosie channelled her inner Rihanna, posting her pictures to Instagram calling herself #badgalroro.

If you’re more interested in a parody costume, look no further than Paris Hilton’s recreation of Miley Cyrus circa VMA’s 2013; the heiress donned a fuzzy bear onesie and pigtail buns and the ubiquitous foam finger. Dressing-up as a celebrity is a foolproof way to enjoy Halloween; even the celebs themselves are at it. The ever-chic Rachel Zoe transformed into Cher for the night, while her right hand man Joey Maalouf dressed up as Rachel Zoe.

The award for our favourite funny costume has to go to Alexa Chung, who showed off her sense of humour by dressing up as a hamburger. Only Alexa could possibly make a fast food costume look so chic – now that’s what we call a happy meal.
