Get the purrrrfect cat-eye look with Alexa Chung and Eyeko
What a week it has been for style maven Alexa Chung. The British tastemaker unveiled her first collaboration with Eyeko this Monday and celebrated her 30th birthday on Tuesday. Oh, and did we mention she also released her book “It” on September 5th; is there anything this girl can’t do?
To add a special touch to the products, Chung took the reins when it came to designing for Eyeko; “Eyeko’s turquoise is lovely but I wanted to establish my own version so that people would know this was my take on their products.” She explained. To ensure that her loyal fans received the true Alexa Chung aesthetic she adorned the packaging and products with her own handwriting and drawings.
Alexa’s collection is all about beguiling, feline eyes the go the distance. “Creating a water resistant mascara was important for me because it’s almost always raining wherever I am. Also I apply make-up in the morning and hope it lasts all day and all night. I’m fairly lazy when it comes to reapplying, so a lasting mascara that was cry and sweat-proof was a must for me. Eyeko’s eyeliner is the best in the business. I think it’s very easy to apply because it’s similar to a felt tip pen and is easy to travel with so you can take it on the plane or for sleepovers in your bag.”
The liner is completely budge-proof as well as offering an opaque, pitch-black and waterproof formula for precision and all day wear. Chung takes her soon-to-be released mascara a step further, as the formula includes vitamins A and E, keratin, ginkgo biloba and botanical proteins. She explains, “It stays on forever but feels amazing thanks to all the lash-enhancing magic in the mix.” You had us at magic, Alexa.
The range comes as a gift set; which includes the Eye Do liner, Mascara, Eyeko’s signature guitar pick to prevent smudging, and a limited edition poster, and will be available online at Eyeko.com and Selfridges beginning November 14. And for the American beauty addicts, the collection should hit Sephora boutiques in January.
