Kristen Stewart named new face of Chanel
Following K. Stewart’s attendance at the Chanel Metiers D’art Presentation in Dallas last week, it’s been confirmed that the actress will be the new face of Chanel, with her campaign shots set for release in May next year.
Dressed in wares from the label’s SS14 collection, Kristen posed in a pair of high-waisted orange trousers and a long sleeved grey top for photographs with Karl Lagerfeld at the show. Now close friends, the pair first met during a photo shoot in Paris in 2012, and have since worked together numerous times, with the label gifting the actress with a number of stunning gowns for many a red carpet occasion.
“Kristen is a huge fan of Mr. Lagerfeld and was honoured to be invited to such an extraordinary fashion event,” A source told Hollywood Life. “She loves his style and quirky sense of humour. He gets her and she loves him for that.”
Stewart, 23, is the latest in a line of beautiful actresses who have fronted the brand, and joins an intimidatingly gorgeous roster that includes Keira Knightley, Blake Lively and Diane Kruger.
This isn’t the Twilight star’s first foray into designer campaigns – Kristen has previously starred in Balenciaga’s Florabotanica perfume ad with previous creative director Nicholas Ghesquière. Since Alexander Wang has taken the reigns however, there’s been no talk of her continuing on with the label.
The girls here at Your Coffee Break can’t wait to see the finished campaign shots – here’s hoping they’ll surpass our expectations.
