Trending: Gothic florals
Florals have shifted over to the dark side this winter and it’s the perfect moody antithesis to the twee and girly blooms of last summer. As seen on the runways at Erdem, Valentino and Roberto Cavalli, candy colour palettes have given way to dark and edgy backdrops of black and navy, with petals and flowers peeping out from the darkness. Team a dark floral shirt or jacket with black skinny jeans for a more casual day-time take on the trend, and opt for head to toe print for the evening. Making a statement in this print is easy to do, but won’t look overdone – the dark shades will add a touch of subtlety to the busyness of the patterns, so don’t be afraid to jump straight in.
